Applications are invited suitably qualified BOTSWANA CITIZEN for the Two (2) position of Temporary Quantity Surveyor for a 12 months (1 year) tenable in North West District Council, ( Maun Administrative Authority and Okavango Sub District Council)

SALARY: C1 (P144, 072) per annum.
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
QUALIFICATION: Degree in Quantity Surveying
BENEFITS: 40% Scare Skills and Housing & Upkeep Allowance

EXPERIENCE: At least two years’ experience in related field

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To prepare bill of quantities for building projects
DUTIES
Liaises with other building professionals as necessary to obtain information required for preparing cost estimates.
Prepares Bills of Quantity to guide in the preparation of the budget of the project.
Monitors building projects progress to carry out cost control analysis in order to avoid possible cost overrun and suggests preventive measures.
Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management

Becoming conversant with the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as reference when inspecting the work.
Taking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and materials meet the specifications and quality standards.
Being familiar with legal requirements and checking compliance.
Prepares details and drawings from approved sketches.
Prepares preliminary cost estimates for maintenance works.
Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management

  1. Diesel Plant Engineering: The incumbent must be Advanced Diploma Holder or equivalent.
  2. Mechanical or Auto Motive Engineering: The incumbent must be a Degree Holder or equivalent.
  3. Electrical & Electronics engineering: The incumbent must be a Degree Holder or equivalent.
  4. Auto (Motor vehicle) body repairs & refinishing: The incumbent must be Advanced Diploma Holder or equivalent.
